Michael Moore: 5 Reasons why Trump will win
In seinem jüngsten Newsletter überbringt der US-Dokumentarfilmer Michael Moore schlechte Nachrichten: Er geht davon aus, dass Donald Trump im November die Wahlen gewinnen und der nächste Präsident der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika werden wird.
So sehr er sich wünsche, dass er falsch läge, so sehr fürchtet er, dass es so kommen werde. Fünf Gründe führt er dafür an: Wahlstimmen-Mathematik, viele Menschen hassen Hillary, die Wähler der Republikaner sind motivierter und aktiver und die enttäuschten Bernie Sanders Wähler werden nicht so zahlreich an die Wahlrunen stürmen, um für Hillary zu stimmen und schließlich: kindlicher Trotz und anarchische Zerstörungs-Lust:

THE HUMAN COMEDY: HORACE AND PETE
Mit der grandiosen, zehn Teile umfassenden Serie HORACE AND PETE hat US-Comedian Louis CK alle überrascht: Sein Publikum, das durch einen lapidaren Zweizeiler in einer Mail erfuhr, dass die erste Episode als Download von seiner Webseite erhältlich sei. Die Industrie, der er demonstrierte, dass es möglich ist, eine kreative Idee komplett unabhängig umzusetzen: Louis CK hat HORACE AND PETE geschrieben, komplett selbst finanziert und ausschließlich über seine Webseite vertrieben. Es gab und gibt keine Werbung, kein Marketing, keine DVD oder ähnliches. Nur das reine Material und hymnische Rezensionen.
Louis CK, der als Horace die Hauptrolle spielt, engagierte eine Reihe herausragender Schauspieler, darunter Steve Buscemi, Alan Alda, Jessica Lange ("...because she was in King Kongs Hand..") und Edie "Carmela Soprano" Falco.
Die Serie ist für das Stammpublikum von Louis CK eine Herausforderung. Während sein Stand-Up-Act nonstop vulgär-abgedrehte Pointen bietet, ist HORACE AND PETE ein leises, subtiles Drama, dass in seiner Inszenierung an ein abgefilmtes Live-Theaterstück erinnert. Keine Musik, sehr ruhige Kameraführung, wenig Ortswechsel, das Bühnenbild in sepia, braun, goldenen Farben gehalten.
Die dritte Episode etwa ist eine einzige Szene, ein Dialog. Darin berichtet Horaces Ex-Frau Sara (Laurie Metcalf) ihm von ihrer Affaire mit ihrem 84jährigen Schwiegervater und fragt ihn, Horace, der sie während ihrer gemeinsamen Ehe mit ihrer Schwester betrogen hat, um Rat: Was soll sie tun? Wie kann man so etwas Schlimmes tun und daraus als Mensch intakt hervorgehen?
Die atmosphärische Dichte, mit dem Sara ihr wachsendes Begehren für ihren Schwiegervater schildert hat literarische Qualität. Schon in der zweiten Episode zeigte Louis CK, das er, der in seinem Stand Up gerne Witze über Sex macht, die grob und direkt und vulgär jenseits aller Vorstellung sind - über Sex von Kanalratten in der U-Bahn, die Geräusche, die er beim Orgasmus oder auf dem Klo macht, wie seine Ehefrau ihm mit der Hand befriedigt, das er als Autor in der Lage ist, eine sehr intensive erotische Spannung mit sehr subtilem Dialog zu entwickeln.
Der Dialog von Sara und Horace entwickelt eine emotionale Intensität, die mit Händen zu greifen ist. Nicht nur, weil in der Episode praktisch nichts anderes zu sehen ist, als Saras und Horaces Gesichter. Sondern weil in der Dialog wie eine Serpentine über langsame Schleifen schließlich den Gipfel (oder Tiefpunkt) erreicht. Wenn sie in alle Richtungen ihr Dilemma auslotet, ihr nachvollziehbares sinnliches Begehren, ihre moralischen Schuldgefühle, ihr Wunsch nach Stabilität und Ordnung, ihr Wissen, was sie zu tun hat und ihr suchtähnliches Unvermögen ihr wiederholtes Fremdgehen zu stoppen und das Phänomen der Gewöhnung an die Lüge. "The worst part about telling a lie is when someone that you love just accepts it", bringt Sarah ihr emotionales Dilemma auf den Punkt.
Horace ist gleichermaßen ehrlich wie lakonisch und menschlich: Er rät ihr, ihren Mann zu verlassen, da ihr Verhalten zeige, dass sie diese Ehe offensichtlich nicht hält. Als Sara klagt, nicht NOCH eine Scheidung haben zu wollen und was dies über sie sagen würde, antwortet Horace: "It says that you're shitty at being married. It's ok, so am I. That doesn't make you a bad person. Just don't be married."
