Es ist erstaunlich, was für ein anderes (American) English existiert, wenn man FRASIER anstatt DAWSON'S CREEK schaut oder THE NEW YORKER liest, anstatt den INSTAGRAM Account von Kim Kardashian oder das Facebook-Profil von Reese Witherspoon (Deren Vokabular hauptsächlich aus dem südstaatlichen "y'all" zu bestehen scheint - andererseits: Wer folgt schon Reese Witherspoon's Facebook Profil).
Allein in dem Artikel über die Hollywood-Komödie MIKE AND DAVE NEED WEDDING DATES finden sich folgende Begriffe:
- fulcrum (Dreh- und Angelpunkt): "she is the fulcrum of the movie..."
- intricately prurient (umständlich/verwickelt lüstern/unzüchtig : "She’s supreme at intricately prurient dialogue delivered (and, I’d guess, largely improvised) at amazingly high speed"
